Acw Napoleon Total War
That's MY mod Glad to hear feedback over at twcenter.net if you guys have anything to add. This latest version was 15 months in the making after I released 1.0 back in 2014. I am working on new content for 2.1 along with a couple bug fixes. Five to ten new maps including day 2 at Chickamauga and the Missionary Ridge battles. More scenarios as well, some for the 2.0 maps. I would like to also get more Valley Campaign maps included. If you follow along or have ideas, resource links, etc, I'm glad to have them.As to the 'lack of uniqueness'.
Anyway, the deadliest battle of the American Civil War was the Battle of Gettysburg with a total of 46,000 to 51,000 casualties in three days! The Battle of Antietam was the deadliest ONE day. Napoleon: Total War North and South or is the mod for Shogun 2, North and South 2, better? I feel like the mod for Napoleon is more stable and polished, while the Shogun mod seems to be better technical wise since its built on a newer version of the engine.
I would agree in part, depending on your point of reference as to the 'custom' battle units or the Historical Scenario units. For the all of the scenario units, I had to develop a normalization table to keep some sanity among the 3.700 units. I based most of my research on John Tiller's Battleground series, using his unit quality ratings A-F.
So your Iron Brigades/Stonewall Brigades are your 'A' units at a base morale of 15, then on down the line with '2' as your 'F' value. Other stats are based off of that morale/quality number.
It was the only way to keep things evenly treated across all units and years, etc. I FULLY expect good arguments can be made for changing specific units, so present a good one and I'll consider it in the overall scope.
As well, if you find anything else that would change a unit in a scenario, let me know. Things like repeating rifles at that battle, etc. Thanks for playing and I will stay at work on expansions and improvements so if you have some ideas or other feedback, please drop by twcenter.net and let me know. This mod is now under their 'Hosted Modifications' section in the Napoleon sub-form.Thanks!Slyk. I played two battles tonight on multiplayer (1 v 1 and 3 v 2) and both times the server crashed pretty early in the battle and everyone got tossed. The same thing happened last night with some of my friends.Shiloh, if you can be specific as to which maps and faction armies you used?
If one of the guys you had involved had ANY other mod file, that could be a mis-match issue. Everything has to be the same so I always suggest removing all other mod packs. There have been very few bug/crash reports so knowing as much as you can tell me would help isolate the issue. I do think some players are having issues with combining Cavalry but I have never been able to recreate the issue. If you anything to add, please feel free. Thanks!Loving the mod so far. On Saturday night the Sgt. Major in my regiment fought HD Cody and it was streamed. The commentary was hilarious and I alot of people watching were pretty impressed with all the work you have done.

Well I think I did but being 3 score and 15 years of age I might have missed something or misinterpred something. Having gotten through all that 'felder carb', my question is what shoulld the contents of 'C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonNapoleon Total Wardata' look like after the mod install?Ah.the old 'felder carb'!! The installation problem I was having stems aroung the timing in running '%appdata%'. In the video of the install they had it run before going to the 'Script' directory. Thanks again for your help. I will gladly accept tips and fixes if you are willing to share that information. No problem Leonard glad you got it figured out. I'm not sure I understand the part about timing and the script copy.
Acw Mod
It doesn't really matter if you take a week to put the user script in the script folder as long as you dont try running the game beforehand. But it wouldn't hurt to have the destination already open to make it easier for you in future mod installs. What other issues are you experiencing? I've played a few battles now and run into no problems.
The only trouble I've had was lag in some battles, in some it's my own fault for playing with huge armies in 3v3 and another was a 1v1 which had spells of lag, but that could have been down to the density of trees and with the graphics maxed out, it may have been straining my rig? Oh and if you don't like the tracers like me then have a look for a mod to remove them or I can send you a link to it. Thanks for sharing your experience. The biggest agrivation I have at the moment is the main menue. The menu shows up as a white panel with some of tthe game options listed.
From what I understand the menu should look like the original Napoleon menu.Sorry I miss led you on the 'script'. The timing issue is with the%appdata% function.
I found that I had to execute%appdata% while still in the 'data' folder before going to the 'Script' folder and running it as a part of setting up the script file. I hope this makes more sense. Of course I still have no idea what%appdata% actually does. From the contents of your reply, it seems you have installed ACW 2.0 on your system. Thanks again for your help as it is much appreciated. If it was me I'd reinstall the mod even though it's a chore, believe me I'm going through it at the moment? I did try out the mod but after loading a battle the other night (Fredricksburg) with a 2v2 army set up the lag was horrendous, maybe it's down to my set up, I play with large regiments (400+ Infantry scale) and it struggled and has struggled with other maps but not as bad, which is a bit of a game breaker for me, if the mod can't handle that like other mods I know I will only play it now and again. So I decided to switch back to NTW3 because of a new update, but I'm having issues with that installation and my original version seems to have broke, so I'm doing a fresh install of everything for the second time today. Something I did must have been wrong and I was getting error messages? Sometimes the simplest of operations can be easily messed up. The game only offers the Play Battle option for NTW which is to say a large selection of historical engagements from the ACW, unlike the Empire version which gives you some historical battles but includes the ACW campaign too.
The large armies I use comes from altering the preference file entry, 9th line down:-campaignunitmultiplier 1.8; # campaignunitmultiplier, Set default unit multiplier for campaign #I do it for all my NTW battles and campaignsWhich looks like this;-And my specs;-Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-7700K CPU @4.20GHz, 4.200Mhz, 4Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080x64 based PC. It is kind of slow but gets the job done. Not sure what your interest in the American Civil War is; but there is a great ACW game calledUltimate General - Civil War. Pretty flexible with both historical and custom battles.
There is also a campaign mode which covers the entire war. Thanks mate, I bought it earlier this year but it cost me an arm and a leg lol It has been brilliant but I do try to push it too far with my battles. Everything else I play though are fantastic, Verdun, IL Sturmovik, Men of War Assault Squad all run marvelous on it and compared to the old lap top I used to play on it's a zillion times better. I have heard about that game, I watched a lot of you tube videos regarding it too, I think his name is the Historical Gamer and it did look impressive. Maybe I'll indulge some time soon.
I am very intersted in that period and have watched many many documentaries, films (Gettyburg and Gods and Generals are hard to beat) and also the Gettysburg NPS lectures and guided walks. Anyway I hope you're enjoying the mod, did you get the launch screen fixed?
